Hhhmmmm….what happens here….let’s go to see what’s going on in my garden…
!!!IT’S ‘PICNIC’ TIME!!!
Hello everyone! We are so happy with Nero that you came today to have fun with us – because we have today PicNic!
When I got this happy fabric I saw there immediately pinwheeles! Those great yellow, green, blue and white with the pinwheeles gives a feeling for a joyful movement! Also from the beginning it was to be “PicNic” even I didn’t know yet what I am making!
These colours are so full of sunshine!
I love to quilt by hand! I have made simple stitching around every second block. Some years ago I didn’t even think to sew by hand. If I couldn’t sew by machine, I didn’t do it. Now I enjoy that part of the work very much!
I imagine this ‘PicNic’ Blanket inviting us for a wonderful picnic – covering our garden chair – giving sunshine for our sofa – babies and children palying picnic on it!
I was doing this blanket slowly slowly – first lots of blocks – after a while I started to gather them – then I saw it as a blanket and continued again. Still there was missing the quilting…
Perfect timing for the ‘One thing, One week Challenge’ which I found from Amy’s Creative side! Her blog is so full of wonderful, interesting and exiting things. For example Quilter’s interviews. I’m joining also the ‘Fabric Tuesday’ in Quilt Story – wonderful way to share your sewing in Tuesday!
So I joined Amy and decided to challenge my self to finish this quilt last week! You can find the button on my sidelist. If you got inspiration to make pinwheels and like to learn some great tips to make them, visit Benta from Slik Stitches! She makes wonderful patchworks and quilts! I found her last autumn from Blogger’s Quilt Festival where she had joined with the most beautiful landscape quilt!
So…this is my “PicNic Blanket”! I think it has super summer feeling…how about packing our picnic basket and going to the beach….with this!!!
This is a dream or what you think! I could put Nero in the sidevagon and drive around the island!
This bike and the other beauty in my last post, were in the exhibition for old bikes – unfortunately not mine…
I have made few other tiny animals with scraps…but today I’m having a holiday from sewing. I have something else in my mind…better be going for that, so I can tell you about that next time!
Aah, but still I want to say about the shawlet! Finally I decided to name it “Oat Field”! Thank you for helping me with the name! You found so many great names! Sometimes we are too close to our works and can’t see them well. It has exactly the colour of oat and field has lovely natural feeling! Thank you also for all the overwhelming sweet comments you write to me!!! You give me so much engourage and energy for doing my crafts and writing this blog!!!
Now I wish you marvellous week with all the wonderful things you like to do!!!
