Hello !
My name is Teje and I have born -61 in Finland. In 1993 I moved to Greece and since then I have been living in Crete with my Greek husband. We live outside of Hania in a stonehouse which is mostly planned and built by us. We share this lovely home with our 3 dogs and 1 cat. I have 1 dear sister who is living her creative life in England.
I was 5 years old when I made my first pullover with my mother’s help. I think I was always doing something but when I was about 20 years I really found ‘the yarn’! Then I visited with my mother and sister first time the ‘factory-shop’ of “Helsingin Villakehraamo”. It is one of the biggest yarn factories in Northern Countries and it is just next to my hometown. There was no return… you could find so wonderful yarns with very good prices. Going there was always like visiting ‘the wonder-land’, you never knew what treasure you could find…
In those times I also started to sew more, all kind of clothes and other things for home. I made my first patchwork, very simple blanket with big squares and bright colours. When I moved to Greece there was several years that I didn’t have so much time or even interest for handworks. But slowly slowly I started again and managed to fill my stores again with yarns, fabrics and other materials. Many years I was looking at my husbands nice shirts and dreaming to make patchworks… and finally 2009 I started to cut squares… and sew them…and it was a begining for a new passion. Now my husband is worried about his shirts…
I like to do all kind of handworks. With my husband we fix old furnitures or build a store to vegetable garden etc. When we were building our house we did as much as we could our own. My father is an architect and helpped us to plan the house and from him I have got ’the need to plan and design’. I like very much to paint – whatever – it can be a painting or a furniture or a wall….
I love books and I read every day. Also I am travelling in the ‘blogland’ and find there every day something lovely and interesting!
I like to be in the garden -’digging’, knitting, reading, painting etc.
With all these my handworks I can enjoy colours which are very important to me!
I love animals! I was 7 years old when we took the first dog to our family. It was an Afgan. When I was 11 years we got an other one which was more or less ‘mine’. When I was living in my own home I had two Collies.
And now we have these 3 lovely, funny friends bringing life to our home! First time in my life I have also cat and it’s great. It has been really nice and interesting to see how she lives and behaves.
I do hope you enjoy your visit here and perhaps take a moment to leave a comment so that I can visit you, too!
