I can’t wait to see where the other four butterflies end up.
Thank you Samantha! I don’t know yet, where they will land! x Teje
I am glad I saw the message that part of the post was lost! I just returned and there is much more. I don’t crochet…only knit.
I am excited about the Africa blog as well. Thank you.
Ah! I love this! I’m making a quilt for my niece and she loves butterflies
Is that applique?
Thank you Jess! I’m not sure if you saw all the post because it disappeared. If you have time, please look again. x Teje
Ps. Butterflies are raw edge applique.
Beautiful as always. I love the picture in your header too : )
Thank you Carla! x Teje
I love your butterflies, both crochet and fabric. Butterflies are one of my favorite creatures.
Cindy
Thank you Cindy! Butterflies are so cute and ‘gentle’! x Teje
Beautiful butterflies:) the crocheted ones are stunning! Miss you Teje! I hope everything is going well for you:) big kisses
Angie
Thank you so much Angie! I’m happy to hear from you! I’m fine but I have been really busy! I wish you wonderful summer! x Teje
Your butterflies are a delight!! And I just love when inspiration strikes and must be acted on. Looking forward to seeing what becomes of the blocks, of course they do look great in the garden too!
Thank you so much Christie! I have many ideas, but don’t know yet how they work! Hugs to you and your sweet puppies! x Teje & Nero
Your butterflies have inspired me Teje. I think they would look beautiful with some crochet edging somehow??
Thank you so much for your sweet words and great idea! x Teje
Oh, Teje! Your butterflies (both crocheted and quilted ones) are so pretty. I think the crochet ones would look lovely on a bag or an apron and then fabric ones would make a lovely summer cushion. They really are fantastic!
Thank you so much Katherine! I was thinking also a pillow … and many other ideas are jumping to my mind! Great ideas for the crochet butterfly! x Teje
Oh, how I love butterflies! Thanks for putting a smile on my face!
Thank you Erica! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed my butterflies! x Teje
Those butterflies are flying beautifully in the sunshine Teje. I love the crochet ones too….perhaps they could do something together..? whatever you do it will be lovely. Enjoy your sunshine, it’s so rainy again here ;0(
Jane x
Thank you Jane! I’m sorry to hear that you have rainy weather. Also in Finland it’s very cold and rainy. We have here lots of sunshine and I would love to send some for you! xTeje
Makes me wish I could crochet, so that I could make some of those butterflies from all the yarn that I have in my stash! Never been very good at crochet, though.
Thank you Ria, for your lovely comment! Sorry I haven’t visited your blog for a while and now I learnt that your cat is ill. I bought your scarf pattern from your Etsy-shop – I hope it helps a little bit! x Teje
Beautiful butterflies, both the appliqued and the crocheted!!! Look forward to seeing what you do with them…
Thank you Pam! These butterflies are flying in my mind all the day – while I’m busy with other works! All the time new ideas … x Teje
Gorgeous butterflies Teje, I’m so glad they stayed and came to rest in your garden. A whole quilt full of them would be wonderful. Love your crochet butterflies too. And what a great place to walk, wow, what a view! xo
Thank you Cathy! I would love to make a quilt with butterflies … perhaps I just make more of them slowly slowly and one day there are enough for a quilt! But I think I shall try them for something else, too! x Teje
Very pretty butterflies, Teje! Your skills amaze me you just “thought of butterflies” and soon you have these beautiful things in your hands! How about making a wall piece putting the fabric patches&crochet together? Or little summery butterflies-zipper pouches, paired with flowery fabrics…? Anything you’ll make will be adorable still!
Happy weekend!
Yours,
Mia
Thank you so much Mia for your wonderful ideas! I have to hunt some flowery fabrics and see what’s coming … pouches were in my mind, too and perhaps a pillow … but a small wall quilt with lots of butterflies would be beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend! x Teje
Love the butterflies, raw edge appliqué is lovely
Thank you Benta! I enjoy making applique with raw edge! It’s so easy and almost like drawing with fabric pieces. x Teje
Oh, I think I see a beautiful butterfly blanket! With these fabrics and colours your butterflies are simply beautiful. Also the crochet ones. Did you use a pattern for them, or is it something you made up yourself?
Thank you Dorien, for your sweet words! I see a blanket, too. Would be wonderful to make a quilt full of butterflies with all the scraps from different projects! I found the pattern for the crochet butterfly some years ago from one Finnish blog. Unfortunately it’s only in Finnish and when I now visited that blog there wasn’t any new posts. I don’t know English enough to translate this pattern – other wise I would love to share it. If someone can help, I can send the Finnish pattern. x Teje
Those butterflies are so cute! I think it will make a lovely quilt.
Thank you April! I guess I just need to continue making more butterflies, because they really would make a beautiful quilt! x Teje
Your butterflies are lovely Teje. I don’t know how to make a lampshade but I think they would make a lovely one
have a lovely weekend! Avis x
Thank you Avis! Great idea – when I made first butterflies few years ago, I crocheted also lots of small ‘violas’ flowers and had a plan to sew them on a lampshade. I never did that, but those flowers they are still waiting. Happy weekend! x Teje
Hi Teje, I am delighted that you have come out of the hat as one of my giveaway winners. Please can you get in contact with me either via Etsy or my blog with your address so that I can post out your prize. Congratulations!
Jane x
Wow, Jane, I’m so exited about winning your lovely give away! Thank you so much!!! I’ll send you my address. x Teje

Fun butterfly blocks! Are they hand-appliqued? Looks like a lot of work and very time-consuming, but they are so charming. I really love those crochet butterflies too. They would make a cute mobile to hang in the window.
Thank you Terri! Those fabric butterflies are so quick to make! I just cut the pieces and then raw ege apliqued them with two stitching lines by machine. Easy and fun! Crochet is an other story – I have made so many of these and still one takes about 1 hour to make. x Teje
Wow, what a wonderful collection of butterflies you have made, Teje! I love the applique ones and the crochet ones(and they are very impressive too!) I also enjoyed your last post about the pharmacy museum, it was so interesting and the photos are amazing.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Helen x
Thank you so much Helen! You write always so sweet comments! Happy weekend to you, too! x Teje
So pretty – you are very talented. I wish I could knit and crochet [envious of those butterflies!].
Thank you so much Amy, for your sweet comment! x Teje

x lori
Thank you so much dear Lori! I have been busy, too but I have enjoyed your African posts! I’m on my way to see the last one! x Teje
Beautiful butterflies. Love them crocheted and quilted.
Loving your beautiful butterflies Teje, especially those little crocheted ones. Perhaps the fabric ones could be put together to make a wall hanging. They would look so pretty. Have a creative weeek! Ros
Oh Teje! Your butterflies are so beautiful! they can’t help but put a smile on my face!
I love your butterflies!
Thank you Leanne! This is good project after bisy day; I have made quite many of them! x Teje
What great quilt blocks! So lovely!
Thank you so much Marci! x Teje
Hello Teje! Both fabric and crochet butterflies are gorgeous! I have a small request, if you have the time? Can you translate the butterfly crochet pattern to English and share with us? I would love to make them! My email address is CrystalRak13@gmail.com I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you,God bless, and keep creating!
Ps-I do think the 4 fabric butterflies would look wonderful framed with pretty color-coordinating mats
Thank you so much Crystal! I’m happy to hear that you like these butterflies! My English vocabulary is not good enough with crochet words and also I’m really busy this month. But I ask later from the blog where is the Finnish pattern, if I’m allowed to translate it, and then I do my best to find the words, too! Perhaps I get some help from my knitting blog friends. I wish you wonderful summer! x Teje
Well, I thank you very much for replying and being honest. I value honesty….and creativity! Thank you, Teje. I hope you have a wonderful summer as well! God bless!
Hi, my son has been working on origami butterflies. He has made 1000 so far. He is making them for the Houston Texas Holocaust Museum. They will be doing a butterfly exhibit in honor of the 1.5 million children killed during the holocaust. They are taking butterflies. Google Butterfly exhibit at Houston Holocaust museum. They would gladly take some of your butterflies or as many as you would like to donate. They can be made from any medium, just not larger than 8.5″x11″.
Thank you for your visit and lovely message! That sound exiting and interesting! x Teje
could you give me that pattern in english please i love it
Thank you Ashlei for your comment and visit! Unfortunately there is no english pattern for the butterfly. x Teje
Hi Ashlei! If you are still interested about the crochet butterfly pattern, it’s now in English in my blog! Sunny wishes! x Teje
Thank you for putting this in English.
Love the crochet butterflies. I’m searching for other patterns since I’m crocheting 39 butterflies for the Houston memorial project and I would like to make 39 different ones (and not only the color!). The Finnish pattern can be translated by google, I think I can manage although it is pretty messed up. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Adrienne! Your project sounds amazing! I’m very happy if you can translate the pattern by google. x Teje
Beautiful butterflys. They are one of my most favorite things in the world. Butterflys and purple.
Here is something you could do with them. I found this on Pinterest.
