Blogger’s Quilt Festival 2012: ‘My Dream Quilt’

Hello and welcome to ‘Nero’s Post and Patch’! You have just landed to an island of Crete in Greece! It’s the most exiting week of ‘Blogger’s Quilt Festival’! Fantastic Amy from ‘Amy’s Creative Side’ is hosting and organizing this quilt show!

Hi, my name is Hanna. Nero is busy taking care of little Foxy, so he said it’s my turn to present our quilt. I have to concentrate well (look my pink tung in the middle of my mouth!) because I’m showing a quilt in a festival for the first time. Nero has been here already twice – wow I’m proud of him! You see all of us on the side list.

We have named this quilt ‘My Dream Quilt’ – you can read here how the story of this quilt began. And if you like to see how the story continued and bacame this quilt, you can look here and here.

Details for ‘My Dream Quilt’:

Measurements: 49″x62″ (about 125 x 160 cm)

Fabrics: ‘Sugar and Spice’ by Quilted Fish from ‘Fat Quarter Shop’

Quilted by hand with turquoise Perle cotton n:o 8

First time Nero showed his ‘Nero’s Garden’ quilt in this festival. That quilt is full of Nero’s friends from the garden – made with small scraps. Second time he showed ‘Orange Stones’ - hexagon quilt that we made very quickly to join the festival!

This week is going to be so exiting because of this festival! There are so many creative quilters with their amazing quilts! So many blogs to visit and lovely old and new friends to meet! We have already so wonderful memories from these festivals and still we keep in touch with many friends we have found from the festivals!

Don’t forget that there are also many sponsors sharing beautiful presents and voting for viewer’s choice in many categories!

Well done, Hanna! Such a lovely quilt in beautiful spring shades. Makes one want to go fishing in a cool pond. Of course the hand quilting is the note that sets your quilts apart. Here’s hoping Miss Foxy is feeling better with each day.

Your quilt is so pretty in soft and summery colors. And I think Hanna did an excellent job standing in for Nero. Sometimes we all need a bit of help from our friends! Seeing all your beautiful pictures from Crete has made me start dreaming…

Hi Teje, I have just enjoyed reading and catching up with your adventures in Finland and the summery scenes of fabrics drying on your clothesline. I would love to visit that Marramenko shop one day too. Your new dream quilt is fantastic, those bright fabrics are glorious in it. I hope Foxy is as good as new again..much love to her from Australia.

First things first…I don’t even know you, but my thoughts are with Foxy. That has to be hard for all of you.

I love your site! You seem to be in such a beautiful area and now I have been pouring all over your blog including vacation homes.

Your quilt (really all your quilts I have seen so far) are gorgeous. We call dogs like Nero “Tervs” over here. I have had the pleasure of being around a couple of them in dog training and they are smart dogs!

Thank you for introducing yourself to me. I am loving all the people this festival is introducing me to. There is so amazing talent out there!
