What lovely fabric Teje, I am sure you have added to your stash. Enjoy your trip.
Jane x
Thank you Jane! Happy 1 st of May! x Teje
Marimekko is just beautiful and looking at your pictures that store is nothing less than a candy-shop. Your pictures tell a great story about Finland, thank you so much for sharing. The cat on the milk is so cute, indeed s great way to start your morning with.
Thank you Dorien! My home town is small and I show you small things on my way and my view – I’m happy you join and enjoy my trip! x Teje
So glad you are enjoying yourself. I first heard of Marimekko when Big J was born (almost 8 years ago now) when one of my Finnish friends bought him a marimekko sleep suit and I have loved it ever since. My other Finnish friend bought him a sleep suit too… with Moomins on of course! He was the only British baby in a Moomin sleep suit (and the coolest)!
Thank you – I’m so happy to hear your memories about Marimekko and Moomins that every one loves! x Teje
Dear Teje, Thank you so much for sharing with us your wonderful trip back home. I am ashamed to say that I have never seen photos of Finland before, but have enjoyed reading your blogs and seeing the different landscapes of your land. Enjoy every day, I am sure you will :0)
love Val xx
Thank you Val! I’m happy to hear that you join my trip and enjoy photos from Finland! Give hugs to Bella! x Teje
That fabric look wonderful – how much did you buy?
Thank you Dianne! This time unfortunately no Marimekko shopping. x Teje
Thanks for keeping us in your back pocket. Love visiting your town and seeing the different stores–lovely fabric so neatly organized. Wow! That is one cool milk cat.
Thank you! I’m happy you follow me on my trip! x Teje
I love the photos of your visit home. It is always so interesting to see and hear about other places around the world, especially the common everyday stuff – like the milk! I loved the pictures on the milk carton. I have really enjoyed ‘visiting’ your home, thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you Louise! I’m happy you join and enjoy my trip! x Teje
I love the fabric store! So beautiful : )
Thank you Carla! x Teje
Our mommy loves Marimeko and is drooling over the fabric patterns. Have a good rest of your trip.
Bella and DiDi
Thank you Bella and DiDi! x Teje
i love finland! i forgot marimekko is there. i would have a hard time choosing. it’s all so lovely. thank you for bringing us along today teje, i am enjoying myself so much!
Thank you Lori! I’m so happy to hear from all of you how you like Marimekko! I love their fabrics and all their products! Also they bring me so much memories from my childhood! We had curtains, stripe t-shirts, pouches, bags, table cloths etc. I just remebered that my mom made rain coats to me and my sister with Marimekko’s oilcloth! Thank you for joining my trip! x Teje
What beautiful pictures. The artwork is so sweet that you snapped a pic of. Also what a fun cat-milk carton. How is Nero surviving without you?
Thank you Kris! I’m told that Nero and the girls are fine! Perhaps it’s good for them, too, to have a small change for every day rutin. But I miss them! Give hugs to Duke! x Teje
Oooh, I LOVE the marimekko fabrics. You have reminded me they have a shop in London that I haven’t been to for a very longtime. Hope you aren’t getting too cold!
Thank you Benta! It’s so great that Marimekko is well known every where! I am proud of them and I love their beautiful fabrics and bags etc. They bring to me memories from my childhood! It’s not too cold here, quite sunny and perfect for me before the long, hot summer in Crete! x Teje
What fun to see your homeland!! And I love Marimekko!!! My aunt has so many of their fabrics stretched and framed. And art on a milk carton? That is my kind of a country!!!
Hugs!
Thank you Vickie! I love those cats on milk cartoons and they are so beautiful! And Marimekko – I have strong feelings for their fabrics and bags etc. Many prints bring childhood memories to my mind!
I’m happy you join my trip! x Teje
Just catching up on your trip to Finland. It looks so beautiful there. Why am I not surprised that you hit the yarn and fabric shops!
… and dogs, but I’m too shy to take photos! Today I met my friend and her dog – how I enjoyed petting that sweet Cocker Spaniel, after having many days without any dog near to me! But I do enjoy searching fabrics and yarns! x Teje
Another great post…love that fabric…
Thank you! x Teje
Iloista vappua, Teje!
Great views, and you really seem to find and cherish the things in a new way – like the milk-cats, I see them every morning but haven’t seen them LIKE THAT! And I’m so proud of our Marimekko, looking very good in your post, lovely. lovely pictures! I am so happy you’re enjoying your stay here and the weather seems to be agreeing too!
Wonderful May!
Yours,
Mia
Thank you Mia! We don’t see the nice little things when when we have them around us every day. It’s the same if you come to Crete – you notice things that I don’t take care anymore. Today I went to Hameenlinna, but didn’t take photos. I met my artist friend and had a lovely sunny day! Marimekko is just so good! x Teje
The fabric store looks like heaven! So colorful. Love the artwork on the milk cartons, too.
) Finland looks like a lovely country. xo
Thank you Kelli for your sweet words! x Teje
I bet you have excess luggage to carry home
Thanks for the trip Teje! Avis x
Thank you Avis! I think I have to pack tomorrow to see if can visit the fabric shop again! x Teje
Love the milk art.
But what did you buy in the marimekko shop? Or were you just looking (prices, gasp)?
Thank you Kathy! Unfortunately no fabric shopping from Marimekko this time. x Teje
Love the milk cartons!
Thank you Karen! They are so lovely! x Teje
Thank you so much for taking the time on your vacation to share all these wonderful photos with us. It has been so nice
Thank you Kate! I’m home again with Nero and the girls! It was really nice to have all my blog friends with me in Finland! x Teje
The Maremiko fabrics are to die for, I wish they could be more affordable. I like your blog and all the puppies!!!!! cheers from Canada!
Thank you for your lovely words! Marimekko has so wonderful products and good quality but then they are also quite expensive. I bought only one present, small piece of oil fabric (3 e) and paper napkins. Wishes, now again from Greece! x Teje
The Marimekko store is wonderful but rather big printed if I remember or rectory. Maybe difficult to use in patchwork? Did you buy any?
Thank you Cille! Many Marimekko’s fabrics have bigger prints, but not all of them. Perhaps not the best for the patchwork but so beautiful for many other things – what about summer skirt, ironing board cover – just few examples what I have done. This time I bought only small piece of oil cloth (could be a bag). x Teje
