‘CANDY’ MINI QUILT

Hello! I hope you are fine! I hear that that many of you have had already really lovely weather – almost spring! That sounds great when we are having still cold and rainy winter! Saturday we had some sunshine and I took my ‘Candy’ mini quilt outside.

This was fun to make – little quilt made with fabrics from ‘My Dream Quilt’ and this time with dark blue and not always white. ‘My Dream Quilt’ is waiting for a moment when I don’t have other work more busy to finish (you think that moment will come?).

It was a big question, how to quilt this?! I thought that those circles and lines could somehow reflect round candies in the wrapped paper.

The back of this quilt looks funny and gives me an inspiration for something with lots of stitching over solid fabric!

This time of the year there are lots of beautiful, yellow bushes around …

Like so many others, I have catched a cold. My hb has it now second time and now I couldn’t avoid it – already more that one week I am coughing and coughing. I took lots of photos when making this mini quilt and I want to show you how easy it is to make. But I really feel that my thoughts are not clear enough now, so I shall write the tutorial in next days.

Teje, I hope you feel better soon and that you get some spring weather (I’ve been gardening this weekend – unbelievable in February!). Your mini quilt is gorgeous and I love the quilting. Looking forward to your tutorial.

What a lovely little quilt, I love the colours and the quilting does remind me of candies! I do hope you are soon better, and your cough clears up….sometimes they do last a long time….hope you have some sunshine this week to help!

Hi Teje, you did an amazing job quilting. The lines are so beautiful and I really like the way the curves and spirals match with the triangles of the patchwork. It brings the quilt to live.
I’m sorry to hear you have a cold; it usually takes away so much energy, even when you’re not really sick. I hope you will feel better soon.

Colds are no fun at all. Stay warm and rest under one of your lovely quilts. Princess Dustbunny loves the hand quilting which makes your work so special. She has instructed me to be sure and add that to her quilt! Shows you what she knows–that would take me a month of Sundays to replicate your round candies, and they would be far from round. : )
