CATS, QUILTS AND CANDIES

Miaaauuu!!! Finally I can have a word or two here! Welcome everyone – especially cats!
As you know I’m the official quilting assistant and sometimes I just don’t get it … you see … she says that she is going to make a quilt with candies?!

… something I know about quilting and certainly you can’t make a quilt with candies! What a relief, she has some fabrics here, so I guess she is not totally hopeless …

… if she thinks that those are some kind of candies – may I laugh! But hey, what’s there? Ok, if you use your imagination, there might be something that reminds candies! I see better fishes!

She says that this is going to be ‘Candy Cat’ quilt and it’s a doll quilt. A doll quilt?! What is this now – we don’t have any dolls here! If you don’t count me … I guess I could use that on my bed. I have to check it first when it’s finished.

I think these reminds me a little bit more candies …

But now I’m ashamed … how I didn’t see this before. Look now – she has been so busy running around with other cats and dogs that she didn’t trim well the blocks and now the corners don’t match well! She has still so much to learn about quilting.

Hmmm, she is quite beautiful - but she is not ‘Nelli’, right?! Oooops – I can do that … I just don’t want to …

I guess I said enough for today. Hope to see you soon again! Licks and hugs from me!

Loving these pictures of your wonderful kitties/helpers! I am a lover of cats, so they touch my heart. I always smile when I see pictures of fellow bloggers’ cats sitting on their sewing tables, as if they’re helping. They just like the companionship so much, they’ll sit anywhere to be near you.

Hey there Nelli, you are a quilting assistant, not a critique! Those points look fine to me. We use a 3m rule – can you see the problem from 3m away? No? Then it isn’t a problem

My Princess Dustbunny knows exactly what Nelli means about quilting assistants having to be on watch the whole time, but she thinks that candy cat quilt is really terrific and knows it would look swell on her bed. She has told me to get busy and make one like it for her and reminded me that princesses don’t like to be kept waiting! The Princess also said that other than herself, Miss Nelli is the prettiest kitty she has ever seen.

Is the second cat Nelli? Is she a Russian Blue? I loved cats all my life – but I am allergic to them now. When I run my hand across a cat, my eyes swell and my lungs fill up so that I cough and can’t breathe. You know how sad that is. So I only have my dogs. But I love them. And I love little quilts. And I love to see what you are doing.

  Hi! Thank you for your comment! My Nelli is the first one – black and white. The grey one is one cat I meet when I go to work. There are several cats living in one old store and the owner of the store takes care of them. I’m sorry to hear about your allergic. I am more dog-person but Nelli is sweet and nice company. Nero loves Nelli!

  Wow, 7 dogs, that means lots of love and fun! It’s difficult not to take more, but I try to stay with 3. When I was young, we had Afghans and Greyhound so all these ‘runners’ are very dear to me!
