HANNA PRESENTS ‘PINK BIRDS’ QUILT

Hello my Dear Friends! Today my dear and trusty sewing assistant, Hanna is presenting the ‘Pink Birds’ quilt!
Vof vof, I’m Hanna and I like to show this new quilt to you. Because this is so sweet and cute as I am, I was asked to model next to it. I guess I was good model because here I am now, sitting with these little birdies!
You may remember from my few earlier posts that I don’t feel very comfortable with this modelling thing. But sometimes we speak some funny things with Teje and she makes me laugh …
… then we have fun and I forget to be nervous and I may even start to sing …
I am much better singer than model. I loooove to sing many times a day!
Hey Teje, how many photos I can put here? You think I should show also the quilt … okey I’ll step on the side and leave you to enjoy our new very girlish and very pink quilt!
I have to admit that this quilt became better than I expected! When I had finished the top, I thought it’s somehow a little bit boring. It’s often like that – the top alone is very flat - but when it’s quilted with some details, it changes a lot.
And the binding gives the final touch!
When I made the blue quilt ‘Ripples’, I thought that it’s going to be my forever favourite … I couldn’t have guessed that I may like even more this pink quilt! I guess there is something magical with the pink colours and birds that most of the girls love!
So now it’s finished … ‘Pink Birds’ … and now what ? Always after finishing one quilt there is an empty moment till the next quilt.

We have today lovely sunshine, a little bit cold but beautiful weather. I had a walk with my golden friend and then we played with Nero and Hanna in the garden.
I did also something that I absolutely should have not done?! If you like to have a hint, I can say that it was somehow my friend Kim’s fault – ? - read her post in ‘My Go-Go Life’ to see what I mean! Her blog is one of my favourites because she makes so beautiful things, has really great ideas and she has always the most beautiful fabrics!

Hello Teje I haven’t been blogging to much anymore ,but I always love to see what you are doing even sometimes I don’t have a chance to leave a comment. I love your projects and how you come through with them in the completion ,I on the other hand have a bunch of tops waiting to be hand quilted ,I love this one the birds are so cute and I like the top stitching that you did it is so perfect in the stitching ,did you use fusible for the birds ? I bought some fusible here locally ,but it is a bit difficult to hand stitch with it and even harder with the machine the needle gummed up and I stopped and stitched by hand ,I wish you many more sunny days which you will have and many more beautiful finishes. xoxo theodora
Thank you Theodora! I’m happy to hear from you! I don’t use much fusible because as you said it’s quite hard to stitch and I like the fabric to be soft.

Lovely colours, and great combination of blocks
Those birdie guys are the cutest things, and it’s the quilting that brings them to their best. The perfect combination all around– from the blocks to the binding to the variety of quilting threads. And then to have such a lovely songbird as a model. You are beautiful, Hanna! I had a kitty once that loved to mimic the humming sounds I made–we made quite a duet.
I love your quilt, the colours and design of the birds is beautiful and so is Hannah! The perfect model for your quilt.
