BABY QUILT & BIRTHDAY GIVEAWAY!

Hello my Dear Friends! Today is my birthday and I have a present for you! But first I want to show you a new baby quilt ‘Ripples’! We have now short brake from rain and I could take photos from this small quilt in blue and white!

… in the morning just after the wash … sun is still down and makes lots of strong shadows.

After few hours in lovely sunny wind it was dry and sun was shining through some clouds …

The quilting inside and around the white circles looks like ripples on the water … so bubbles changed to ripples and it’s named ‘Ripples’. Thank you so much for your help with the name – especially Jane and Benta! Stitching all those circles around and around, took more time than some straight stitching, but I think it looks beautiful.

Even you have seen so much colours here in Nero’s Post, blue and white has always been my dearest colours! I guess I have missed ‘My Colours’ because lately they show themselves more often in my blog!

And now … about your present …

As I can’t give you a birthday party I give you a small present. I think every home needs to have a cat and good luck – ‘Mini quilt Cat’ and ‘Lucky Olive’!

Lucky Olive is a keychain, back charm, it gives you good luck for the new year and you can hang it some where at home if you like – or even in your car! I have made Lucky Olive from olive wood from our tree and the leaves are leather and felt. Mini quilt is a mug rug, small table mat, big potholder or a little wall quilt! I hope you enjoy these as much I enjoyed making them.

Hi Teje, your ripples quilt turned out beautifully.

I like blue and white too … but my husband said that was all I ever wore, so recently I’ve been trying brighter colours: vivid reds, oranges, lime green and turquoise!! Of all of them, orange is probably my favourite now and I’ve just ordered some orange yarn to crochet a sweater.

The baby quilt is just darling.. We have had sun here this side of crete too. Makes a lovely change from all that rain and hail that we have had. I love bright colours but I supppose I would have to choose my blue jeans and this fleecy blue and white shirt. Please enter me into your lovely giveaway and I hope you are having a great day. I generally am wearing blue jeans and a red t-shirt or sweatshirt. Red because ever since I join my flyball team where the team colors are red and white, I suddenly have owned way more red shirts.

Happy Birthday! I love the way the quilt turned out. If I pick any color it is always purple and I like to pair it with teal or turquoise.

I love the baby quilt and I don’t even like blue very much. But, I do love circles!
I would chose a comfy dress in a neutral color that I can put lots of different scarves with.

Happy Birthday, Teje! Oh my pug. My humans could for sure use some good luck this year. They have so much on their plate in 2012. The male human is trying to study for the GRE and apply to nursing school.The female human on the other hand is trying to study for the LSAT and go to law school. On top of all this, they are both trying to maintain full time jobs, BunkBlog and BUNK himself! Sigh…. The pug in me told them, they should give up and just snort, sleep and eat like me. Don’t you think? I think Nero would agree.

ANYWAYS… I think lime green and gray look best on me! I have a lime green sweatshirt with a green hoodie and it looks wonderful on me. It makes me look like a tennis ball. If you ask the female human, she would tell you her favorite clothing would be some blue jeans with a comfortable V-neck t-shirt (white/black/pink).

Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY once again! And I hope Nero thinks of my pug-household while picking the lucky winner of this lucky present!

Your baby quilt is gorgeous! I have always loved blues, and I love the hues and of course the ripples! (didn’t know it is called ripples either). After I started quilting, I pay more attention to colors and I find myself wearing colors I never thought of earlier, but still, blue is the favorite. Love the little cat quilt too. Great give-away! If it happens I’m the lucky winner, I don’t think our cat will be jealous, but perhaps the dogs won’t like the ‘intruder’! )

The quilt looks so beautiful, and colors are very Finnish, to my eyes at least and those colors are in my favorites too as I love blue so:

My favorite clothes would be a great pair of blue jeans and a white shirt, quite boring but works every time!

hello teje! happy birthday week! i hope you have a lovely time all week long! every time i come for a visit i want to run to my machine and sew, but even more now i want to take up needle and thread and stich some circles like yours. i LOVE these!

Happy Birthday Teje, I am glad that I have arrived back in blogland to be in time, pity I can’t sing! Though perhaps that’s not such a pity at all!! I love your Ripples quilt, I know it is for a baby quilt, but i think it would look splendid hanging in a room, it has a sense of peace about it.
I Had to smile when I read Helen’s comment above. My favourite outfit too is my denim skirt ….. I love denim :0) a cozy fleece and boots, but blue and white are my Tops!
