Poor Nero! Pip was also very frightened by the fireworks and hid under the stairs in the cellar! She’s always been a nervous dog, but fireworks are the worst.
Love the summery patchwork picture. I am longing for spring already, but I agree that you appreciate it more after the cold of winter.
Thank you Fiona for your lovely comment! I feel so bad for the dogs who are affraid about the fireworks and shooting! Our small Foxy used to be very scared but now I saw that because she can’t hear much, she didn’t mind at all the noise – something good for that! x Teje
I love that beach scene, so many wonderful details! And it’s nice to dream about the beach since we are in the middle of winter here (although no snow!).
Hi! Thank you for your sweet words! I’m happy if I could send you some sunshine! x Teje
Teje that is such a sweet scene you have created and so sunny! It’s been a horrible day here, gales and torrential rain so it is good to see some sunshine sent from Crete.I hope the fireworks have stopped now and poor Nero can settle again. Billy sends him a purr,
Jane x
Thank you Jane! I’m happy I could send you some sunshine but we are waiting to have some storms and cold weather too. Today we didn’t hear any horrible noises and Nero was happy. We had lovely day playing outside!
Hugs to Billy! x Teje
Our cats were very scared of the new years eve fireworks too! I love the beach, it looks like a windy day. Today we had wind and really heavy rain apart from an hour sunshine in the middle!
Hi Benta! I’m sorry to hear that your cats had also difficult New year. We have had some sunny days but for the weekend we will have unfortunately storms and cold weather. Sunny wishes! x Teje
Whoa! Love that picture. The stitching is fabulous! Those sun-beams are so inviting. And those little fish…sweet! Hugs! Vickie
Thank you Vickie! I enjoy making small details and this was fun! Sunny wishes! x Teje
Wow! I love your beach picture.
Thank you Louise! Sunny wishes! x Teje
Very pretty and it looks like you are having a bit of nice weather too.
Thank you Linda! We have had some really lovely sunny days but they say that from tomorrow storms, rain and cold weather is coming. I guess I’ll spend the weekend in my sewing studio! x Teje
What a lovely project! I love the picture you are illustrating with fabric. You’re so good at this. I can just hear the sea breeze and feel the warm air, looking at your fabric picture.
Thank you Terri! I enjoy making pictures and with fabrics and scraps it is really fun! Sunny wishes! x Teje
I just love all the detail in that little quilt of the beach…it feels so perfectly
beachy. This time around we got a dog who isn’t very afraid of the loud noises and that is a nice thing.
Hi Donna! How great that your sweet dog is not affraid of noises! Thank you for your sweet words! I enjoyed making all the details on the beach, sea and sky! x Teje
What a beautiful seaside quilt Teje, I love the colours in there too. Your dogs look so beautiful. xo
Thank you Cathi for your sweet words! x Teje
I love your quilted beach picture, especially the boats, the stripy umbrellas and the big orange sun! The colours are wonderful and so cheerful to see. Have a happy first week of January, Teje.

Thank you Helen! I’m happy to hear you like this beach patchwork! I enjoyed making it! Sunny wishes! x Teje
Thank you for your sunny post! We are still having a lot of Fall-like weather, and it is just better to stay inside. Fleur has als had a terrible New Years Evening. She is still very anxious when it comes to noises and she won’t leave my side.
Hopefully Nero will get over it soon.
I love your new quilt! The way you have applied the fabrics is wonderful. You always amaze me: this time by the quite simple shapes you’ve used, but with an amazing effect.Wonderful!
Hi Dorien! Thank you for your sweet words! I’m sorry to hear that also Fleur is affraid of fireworks. I don’t think that Nero will get over that – perhaps it will be worse and worse, because even yesterday when there was some strong noise outside, again he stucked very worried next to me. Also he don’t go any where near to my hb’s workshop because there are some noises too. I guess it has been more difficult after the ear problems.
When I started this ‘beach’ I hadn’t anything in my mind and during the work I realized that there ‘should’ be some beach things!
Sunny wishes! x Teje
Love that summery block, so cute!
Thank you Erin for your sweet words! x Teje
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all! I’m loving this gorgeous b=new quilt. It makes me feel a lot warmer and cosier, just by looking at it! Ros
Thank you Ros! I don’t know why I had so much in my mind the beach and sea … first I didn’t even know that I shall add there so many things – they just came to my mind during the work! Sunny wishes from Teje & Nero
This is beautiful, Teje! I really like the sun. We are experiencing a very cold winter here (no snow yet, just dry cold weather) and the sun on the patchwork surely brightened up my day!
Hi! Thank you so much for your lovely comment! x Teje
Your quilt is beautiful, so summery and bright! I had problems with Higgins and the fireworks on New Years night and ended up having him in bed with me under the covers so he couldn’t hear anything, but I think it would be a bit tricky for you to do that with Nero!
Best wishes for 2012,
Penny and Higgins x
Thank you Penny! I’m sorry to hear that also Higgins had unpleasant New Year. The truth is that lately Nero is sometimes short time on our bed, not too long because I think he feels hot. But in the evening when he was so worried, I was sitting on the bed and knitting and he was stucked next to me! At night I spent a long time next to his bed trying to calm him to sleep. Nero wanted to be next to my hb and was scraching him with his feet and my hb was supposed to wake up very early! Oh it was a long night. Next time we will have this problem during the Eastern days. ‘Old times’ our Foxy was squared and shaking when she heard fireworks but now when she don’t hear almost at all, she is happy and don’t know about fireworks!
Sunny wishes and all the best to you and Higgins! x Teje & Nero
How beautiful, you did a great job. I’ve been wanting to make something with fabric to make a change from crochet and something like this would be perfect.
Thank you so much Paula for your sweet words! I am happy if you find inspiration! x Teje
Hi Teje. I’m stopping by to let you know that I am sharing the “Collies Choice Award” with you. The rules for this award are pretty simple: “We have no rules other than the blog we/you give this award to be to us/you personally amongst the best being written.” Your blog fits this description for me! I am really happy to share your wonderful blog with my readers. My post about the award is on my blog today.
Dear Linda, I am surprised and really touched! Thank you so much! I am so happy that you like our blog – with Nero we try to do our best to write happy posts! Hugs from Teje and Nero
What lovely handiwork! But I’ll have to admit that the first thing that caught my eye was NERO. He has a striking resemblance to my long-haired shepherd Bridger. You’ll have to stop in at Cranberry Morning sometime and see him on my sidebar. I found you on ‘Threading My Way,’ where I also put a bag I made (knitted and felted). Cheers!
Hi! Thank you for your visit and lovely comment! Your Bridger is so beautiful and looks very much like Nero! See you again! x Teje & Nero
Oh my goodness! You are very talented! Your work is beautiful. I followed the link to your blog from 2browndawgs and I’m glad I did. Nero is gorgeous! We used to have a Belgian Shepard mix who was a big baby during fireworks and thunder storms. It makes you feel so helpless when they’re scared. Nice to me you and look forward to coming back and seeing your work and stories.
Hi! I’m happy you came because now I found you, too! Your dogs are so adorable! I hope they don’t mind about fireworks! Thank you for your sweet words! x Teje & Nero
2 Brown Dawgs sent me and I’m glad she did. You are doing such beautiful work! I love, love, love the pictures!!
Thank you Jodi for your sweet words! x Teje & Nero
This is so fantastic! What a beautiful scene you’ve captured.
Thank you Kerry for your sweet words! x Teje

Thank you so much! I love your beautiful dogs!

This is beautiful – it reminds me of summer holidays in greece! Lovely work
Hi! Thank you for your comment! I’m happy to hear that you have nice holidays to remember here! x Teje
Your patchwork is delightful, such lovely work! Poor Bella hates the fireworks too,she barks and tries to hide away.Luckily we haven’t had many this New Year.
Lovely to find your new look blog!
Have a good week, big hugs to the dogs.
Thank you and I’m happy you like our winter look! I’m sorry to hear that Bella doesn’t like either the fireworks. It seems to be nightmere for most of the dogs. We didn’t have too much them this year but many days after still some strong bum bum and Nero is every day so nervous. Have a wonderful time and hugs to Bella, too! x Teje & Nero
