Cute, Teje!
But what I really like is that lovely pool in the background of the last photo! Ha! Seriously, though, I do enjoy appliqué! It is fun and rewarding.
Now, give out those biscuits and then let those cute dogs take a swim! *wink*
Lovely little quilt Teje! I hadn’t thought about Christmas at all yet, but now you mention it is only two months away!! I guess I will have to start soon. Thank you for reminding me.
Thank you Dorien! I have seen already several Christmas posts and finally when my father asked something for the Christmas, I found the inspiration to start. Have a lovely week! Teje
Teje … it was all looking so promising as something I might try myself until you talked about drawing the horse etc.. by hand …. That’s never going to happen and I don’t have any cookie cutters (well, just round ones!). I may need to rethink that idea!
It does look like a very cute project though and you make it look so easy!!
Dear Fiona, don’t let the horse scare you! I have found some animal cookie ‘models’ from our supermarket so I’m sure you can find some, too. Or you can look some children’s book to find a figure you like. Or you can make hearts or stars without animals! Let me know if I can help you more. Xxx Teje
Dear Teje,
I am so happy you have started the Christmas-sewing already! I have had it in mind for quite some time already and as the days here get shorter and colder it just seems the time might be just right! Thank you for this cute idea and wonderful tutorial!
Happy new week soon!
Yours,
Mia
That’s such a sweet little quilt Teje and perfect as a coaster for your tea and biscuits. You make it look so easy but I would struggle…quilting does look good fun though. Your work is beautifully neat. Christmas is indeed fast approaching, I have been making some Christmas themed bag charms today even though we got up to 20oc this afternoon, despite frosts earlier this week. How good is that?!

I shall try to fix some drawings with the scanner (horse, dog, cat, sheep). So if someone is interested I could send them by e-mail.
Teje
A lovely little mat. I really like the horse, it looks very Norwegain to me – probably looks Finnish to you LOL. I haven’t started thinking about Christmas, but it isn’t very long!
I find it a bit daunting that Christmas is getting so close…I am not ready mentally for it yet! I do love your mat though and it looks lovely with your food and cuppa on it. I saw Christmas puddings and cakes in the supermarket today for the first time this year too.
Great tutorial….Love the cookie cutters : ) Such a cute little quilt!
Teje, I LOVE it!!!! You are fantastic
)
Such a fun project! I love how easy you made this tutorial. Such a great idea for making Christmas gifts and home decorations. Thanks for sharing.
You did a wonderful quilt mat! Will try to make this idea when I got home. I am sure my kids would really love this idea if I make a mat for our house.
I love your little mat! I can’t wait until my sewing room if finished so I can get at it again!!
Such a lovely little quilted mat, Teje. And what a great idea to start the Christmas gift making now so there is time to enjoy it properly. I love the pictures in this post, and how you have the dappled sunlight falling on your lovely stitchery. Have a happy week.

Very special!
love, love it!!
The mini quilt is very pretty. Too pretty to use.
Ah– you know, Teje, that anything that has a horse on it qualifies as fine art. Well done. I have always enjoyed doing tiny quilts, and you do a wonderful job of it.
Ah, that pool makes me want to come over and hang out at your place… Lovely mini quilt!
Very, very cute… It has almost a Swedish feeling to me
Thinks it’s the fabric and the horse.
Love the horse!
I am so not ready for Christmas. Wonderful job on your mug rug.
Yes definitely its a cute and wonderful job. Will try this cool idea!
Thank you for your kind words!
Cute project….you make it seem so easy….enjoyed my visit.
Your tutorial is so good that I think even I can try something like this. How fancy is your sewing machine? Mine is very basic.
Oh, by the way, there is a nice picture of my Mercy dog on my blog right now…be sure to show Nero!
Thank you Donna! My sewing machine is also very basic. I dream about getting one day a better one so that I could make free motion quilting and many other exiting things that aren’t possible with this one. I came to see Mercy who is so dear to me because looks so much like Nero! Xxx Teje
Hello dear Teje ,you did inspire me I love it all the process looks so simple I wish I could make one .but right now I am making a quilt for a friend it is a large one and I hope to finish it soon so I can make something creative like your little cute mat, I had made plenty of potholders in the springtime and I enjoyed them also. Sorry I haven’t visited for a long time I hope you had a nice summer.theodora
