Hi Teje..a beautiful blue post. Your new cushions are amazing. I always love the topstitching your do by hand, but this time you’ve excelled yourself, especially on the diamond shapes!
What a great idea to take inspiration from a kimono for your pillow. Have you ever seen the book Japanese Quilt Blocks to Mix and Match? I bought it a few years ago and the designs are just amazing. I hope all is well for you and that all the animals are in good health!
Great projects and you are very lucky to have such a lovely sister!
Hi Teje,
Both pillows look beautiful. To use a bold fabric like jeans for a delicate ‘japanese’ design, works great. I have a few Japanese books myself, and just like you, I enjoy very much looking at the beautiful pictures in them. Just can’t decide yet what to do with it.
Glad you have again some lovely warm weather. I’m sitting on the sofa, trying to get warm again after a walk in the rain.
Groetjes, Dorien
I love those cushions – so pretty especially with the top-stitching detail.
I would love it if it were +10 degrees in the evening -that sounds really warm!
Your cushions are beautiful Teje, such lovely shades of blue and so well stitched. Your sister has really bought you home some treasures from Japan. I would love your kimono. You think it is cold at 10oc….we are having our 1st frost tonight and the forecast is 0oc!!! !! Brrr!!
Keep warm,
Jane x
Love the simplicity and restraint of your cushions, the fabric and the textures speak for themselves! Thankyou for your kind comments on my patterns too x
I think you must have the best sister in the world! What lovely gifts!
Love those pillows, Teje! What great inspiration!
I just love blue and white together. The pillows turned out beautifully.
Very nice to see the latest pillows you are working on! Those blues are so soothing. I also like hearing about your Japanese inspiration! I lived in Japan for three years and feel like a piece of me never left. And thanks for passing on Jude’s blog… her work is incredible to look at! Have a great day!
Hi Teje,
Those pillows are so beautiful! Not only because salmiakki is my favorite candy but also those colors are so beautiful! Wonderful work! And I’m so happy you got your labels in order too, they just add that something little extra to work, making it simply perfect
Have a great day and wonderful weekend soon too!
Yours,
Mia
I’ve come over from Freshly Pieced and I just love those cushions! The kimono is beautiful! – Lucky lady!
I was very happy to search out this internet-site.I wanted to thanks on your time for this glorious learn!! I undoubtedly enjoying every little little bit of it and I’ve you bookmarked to check out new stuff you blog post.
My daughter loves the design of Japan. She would love these pictures. My favorite Kimono was the last one. Your pillows are fresh and lovely.
Beautiful pillows, both the designs and the colours. Your hand stitching is so neat. It really adds to the overall look.
