Hi Teje, I am back from my Paris trip! How lovely to see your bright wall hangings, a real splash of summer sunshine. Enjoy your sunshine,
Jane x
How beautiful! Love all the handwork you did. There is nothing wrong with starting with the triangles and working in, I’ve done things like that, it’s fun!
Very cute wallhanging! Love the spiraling in the center.
Love the quilt and the quilting!! Good work!! AnneK:-)
Fantastic warm sunshines, thank you for sharing!
Everything about this wall quilt is FABulous!!!! I love the hand stitching. Pink and orange are a great combo. I recently started using Precencia Finca thread and love it. What do you use?
I also like the triangle inserts on the back, clever!!!
Very beautiful wall quilt. The colors are so bright and summery.
What a beautiful tutorial! I love this project, especially the hand quilting and those extra details you’re good at adding to the back too. Definitely want to try more hand quilting one of these days. I love the look with some perle cotton thread. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Beautiful made and great tutorial. I never made triangles like that in the corners, but it is a great idea. If these quilts don’t remind one of summer, I guess nothing will.
groetjes, Dorien
Hi Teje..I have really enjoyed reading about this wallhanging quilt. Are you going to hang it in your house or one of the apartments? I love your even stitching and the vibrant colours and the contrast of the black and white!
My goodness Teje your wallhanging project is wonderful! I’m so inspired that I think I might make one too.
Happy Summer!
What a beautiful wall hanging. I love the quilting but most of all I love the very subtle changes in color. Excellent!
Teje that is so yummy! I love it, so summery it almost makes me like the Arizona sun
Good luck! Oh and your quilting I ADORE!!
Hello!
thanks for visiting my blog. I speak very little english, but I use “google translator” and I got a little easier.
I love how you quilted the sun. The quilts are very beautiful with such threads.
XOXO
Laura.
Very pretty, Teje, and very good tutorial too! And I have a soft spot for older Marimekko-fabrics too, so that added an extra beauty to this quilt
Have a wonderful weekend!
Yours,
Mia
very bright and cheerful
Your quilting is just lovely! What a lot of work and care went into this project!
How beautiful, absolutely gorgeous!
What a beautiful wall hanging and a fabulous tutorial. I do envy people who have the patience to sew. My aunt has made me a few wall hangings, a gorgeous quilt for my bed, table runners and best of all…outfits for my Sister Bear. If you can’t sew, it’s good to have someone who loves you that does
Have a wonderful weekend.
What a pretty quilt! I have never made one before although I love to sew, with your tutorial it looks fairly simple to do! Maybe I will get brave enough to try it one day! Thanks for the tutorial!
Your quilting is so pretty, and I love your choice of colors, excellent tutorial!
That is just gorgeous … what a brilliant splash of color against the wall!
Really gorgeous, Teje! I love those hot sunny colours glowing in the bright light! You have done such a great job on this wall hanging and explained it all so well too. I do love bright colours with white, so fresh and summery. Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Teje – your quitling is very beautiful and bright. I like it.
Gorgeous! I love the bright colors.
Love, love, love your orange square. It’s so cheerful. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Oh, Teje! I love it! Awesome idea on the corner hanging! And you HAND STITCH your quilting….my hat’s off to you! Gorgeous work, my friend. Thank you for the sunshine! Here I am in the “Sunshine State” and it rains every day!!
Thanks you for sharing with us at Fibers on Friday!
You are amazing, Teje! I love the ideas for different ways to hang a quilt. I never would have thought of the corner idea for small quilts or leaving the binding at the top open.
Thanks for the comment. I’m feeding Toby all the stinkiest food I can find right now to whet his appetite and it seems to be working. Now if his body will only absorb it. I’m sorry to hear about Nero though. It’s a tough one to go through.
We have our first grand-daughter (and 1st grandbaby) coming in about 6 weeks and I’ll be in San Francisco for a month. I just hope he can last a bit longer.
Love it! The spiral quilting is just the perfect touch. (I always draw my suns as spirals, so I may be biased.
)
Great use of solids! Thanks for sharing with us at Summer Fair! AnneMarie
Hello Teje! What a great tutorial. Your sun quilt is really gorgeous. I hope it does well in the competition. It certainly deserves to! Ros
Thank you for the tutorial on hanging a small quilt, I’ll have to try that with the next small one!
You visited my blog and asked about the miniature quilt: it is 100 % easier to do the sewing with paper. Otherwise it is almost impossible to get the seams to match perfectly.
Thank you Hannele for your kind words and help! I need to learn to use paper then! Have a lovely time! X Teje
Absolutely gorgeous sun star!! And I love the mini quilt hanging ideas!
I am soooo jealous of how neat and even your hand stitching is! I hope I get to be that good one day! And I am pretty sure that I am in love with your puppies!!!!! So pretty!!!
Nice wall hanging – I especially like the hand stitching in the center. Did it take you a long time? I am thinking about doing some hand quilting on a quilt I’m making, but I’ve never done it before and was wondering if you had a tip or two =)
This is stunning!!
Great tute!
I love, love, love your hand stitching! Thanks for linking up to {Sew} Modern Monday and have a great weekend!
Ooooh! Your wall hanging is hot, hot, hot! I love it Teje
Happy weekend to you
