Guest Star – ‘Stavros’ the Baby Cat

Hello and welcome to Nero’s Post! Today we have a guest star! I shall give the word to …

… I’m coming! Miauuu – I’m ‘Stavros’ the Lucky Star!

I’m visiting Nero to tell you my story. Like you can see I’m very small. In these photos I’m only about half kilo – now I have been eating well and I have grown a little bit!

My life began with a hard way. Someone throw me and my sister away … I was too small to be without my mom … with my sister we were just crying and crying in the bushes …

I can’t remember well, but I think a cat attacked my sister and she was hurt. We heard the sound of some people but we were too scared to go to see them. After a while we were just too hungry and we went to see if those people would give us food.

We were lucky and those people took care of us. We had lots of good food, milk and a safe home with soft bed. Unfortunately my sister had hurt really badly and she didn’t survive. I lost my sister and I had to continue alone.

But I had a Lucky Star over me and these nice people had two dogs to keep me company – they were Hanna and Foxy. Here is Hanna who gave me two toys to play, cute mouse and little bird.

After I have eat my food, I am really busy playing with my toys!

Camera is not quick enough to catch me and my jumps when I’m hunting the bird!

But look what I found now – this is fun – a glass bowl with sand and stones!

Did you know that we small cats know to read … I prefer magazines with colourful photos …

I’m also fairly good with the grosswords …

… done … I have to go to my other hobbies …

I got my name because I was found near to the village ‘Stavros’ and also the good vet, who took care of me, is Ms. Stavros. I have got check up and I’m helthy little kitten. I got some drops to my eyes and clening for my ears and now I’m in brilliant shape! Ready to start my happy life!

I shall spend my summer enjoying my life here in Greece. After a few months I shall fly to Finland to my home sweet home – there are two dogs waiting me and of course their family!

O Teje, what a happy ending to such a sad story. How awful that people throw away cats. You are just so kind to help Stavros and I am sure he’ll have a wonderful new life in Finland with your dear friend. Enjoy him until he goes, what a sweet, sweet kitten. Take care,

What a great post! I had to laugh out loud about the magazine reading. My cats really enjoy the newspaper. I am so sorry about the other kitten but am very happy for Stavros. Does Nero like?

  Dear Cheryl, Thank you for your sweet comment! I would love to see your cats! Unfortunately Nero hasn’t meet Stavros, because Nero has had problems with his ear. He will tell about that soon. Small kittens are so cute and funny! Xxx Teje

Love your story!! I lived in Athens from 97-99, and I was feding a lot of cats around where we lived. And we got a tiny white cat, the same way as you. Found it outside a sunday morning. It stayed with us for about 6 months. It was white with blue eyes- and deaf!! So I got a heart for greek cats and your lovely islands……..and I feel realy sorry for the economic trouble Greece are in now…… Have a nice weekend!! AnneKari:-)

How gorgeous is stavros Teje! I loooooved that last hoto with his little back legs a blur as he runs out of the photo! You must be having fun with such a little ball of mischief, and your dogs are such sweeties not eating him in one gulp!
Loved those stairs, wow, it’s like you live in my ultimate holiday destination! So beautiful :OD

Stavros, you are one lucky kitteh to have found your temporary home! I’m sure you’ll do well in Finland–just think, you’ll have a big journey you can tell us about!

Hello Teje,

I am so happy you gave home to that little star! It just makes me SO angry that people toss animals like they were toys, it happens here in Finland too, unfortunately, and especially after summer. Stavros is a cutest, and just look at that little tail…I’m in love! Kiss him (it’s a boy, I’m guessing?) for me, please!

Stavros is very lucky! We now have 2 cats that we found starving last summer. Bella only weight 1.5 lb and was about 8 weeks old. She had a respiratory infection, ear mites and worms. Both are spoiled indoor cats now.
