This is one of the pathchworks she made and I’m so happy that I have this with me here in Crete! I remember how I was packing my things when moving here and the last evening still trying to add something to my bags … I couldn’t make this to fit there but she said: It fits! and she made the blanket small tight roll and there it was in my bag!

My mother was an artist! She loved colours and wanted to try new things and materials! Her father was a painter and later my mother started to paint, too! She didn’t knew that one day I shall paint, too – or perhaps she knows …

I’m so happy that she had time to visit me even once here in Crete. She was walking around with her camera and after that she made many colourful paintings!

She loved dogs and all the animals and enjoyed spending time in the forest picking berries and mushrooms!

Your mums painting are great, I really love the one, all those blues. And the quilt is lovely as well as a great reminder, so glad she made it fit in your case.

Hi Teje..Happy Mother’s Day! Your mother sounds like a very wonderful, creative and talented woman..much like yourself. I am so pleased for you that she rolled the quilt into a neat little parcel and fitted it into your suitcase so you would always have it! The summer roses are beautiful and Nero sounds delighted that his special friend has so many puppies to look after..I think twelve babies would be absolutely exhausting.

Hi Teje, we celebrated Mother’s Day here in the UK on 3rd April, the same day as my “big” party and I had a wonderful time, with lots of “Mum’s” including my own dear Mum.
You dear Mum was obviously a very special Mum to you. You have inherited her artistic talent and she would be so proud of you. How wonderful that she did actually see you after you moved to Crete, what magical memories you must have of her. Her paintings must bring you a lot of pleasure.
Sending you lots of love, the roses are beautiful, I can almost smell them.

Thank you for the beautiful roses too. Our roses won’t bloom in the garden for quite some time but my darling daughter did pick me some tulips from my weed beds and a few blossoms off of my Pear Tree along with making me tissue paper flowers in a home made vase. I can’t wait to see what my son made me once he wakes up. It’s been a beautiful morning so far and I know today will be glorious.
