Your notebook is beautiful, and Nellie is just so cute!
You always find inspiration from your garden, your notebook is so nice. A good design.
Have you changed your blog? Or am I not very observant? I love the notebook cover
Hello Benta! Thank you for your comment! I haven’t changed ‘Nero’s Post and Patch’ but because we are renting 4 holiday apartments, I have made a blog page for them. http://www.maherida.wordpress.com I’m not thinking to write there like in my blog. It’s mainly for information and to show the apartments. Still, now and then I shall make there short posts with photos. I wish you lovely weekend! Teje
Foxy looks all cuddly sleeping on the blanket. Your notebook turned out beautifully! But best, I love the flowers. They are beautiful. I miss flowers. More snow and ice for us!
The holiday apartments look very inviting!
Teje You Have Done It Again!!!! You are just sooooooooooo inspiring – I really have to have a go at this idea, it is too fabulous not to try it out. Tomorrow I will be into my scrap box :0)
At the moment I am busy with a quilt top for Kristine in Thessalonikki – it is made from a Jelly Roll called Frolic …. it is very bright and colourful.
Have a wonderful weekend,
love Val xx
Dear Val, I’m really happy if I inspired you! This flower was such a fun work for few hours! Nero would love to see (and taste) that Frolic! Lovely weekend to you! Teje
I just went and looked at your apartments website. So tempting! I wish I could jump on the plane and come stay there and then see in person all the beautiful things you make.
i love your scrappy flower, so cool!
Love the flower!! I checked out your holiday apartments and this is something we will consider!!
Hi Teje…I really enjoyed the photo of your scrappy flower with the other flowers in the garden..a very original idea and it looked so pretty there. I am going to have a look at your apartments now! Have a lovely spring weekend..I hope the sun comes out for you.
I love your notebook. Imagining that pile of scraps can be designed into something so wonderful…creativity rocks!
Oooh, so pretty! Love the flowers, and the kitty, and the quilted flower notebook cover! There are flowers coming out here, but nothing like in your garden.
Gosh, that scrappy flower is just amazing! I really like how you used two tiers of flower petals to give it more depth! And I always enjoy the photos of your garden and cute four legged friends!! Have a great weekend!
Now, Teje – I am assuming that you paper pieced the base of the cover, and then is the flower raw applique? You cut the petals, and then layered them? Or did you sew them together first? I am puzzled.
Hello Kristen and thank you for your comment! At the beginning I took a fabric that size I want ‘the picture’. Behind I ironed that ‘glue fabric’ (sorry I don’t know in English) to be more steady. Then I started to sew piece by piece the back round, starting from the out corners. You can see in the photo the blue pieces up and green down. I didn’t fill all the base fabric under the flower. Then I started to sew the petals for the flower from outside. I pinned one circle of petals – sew it by sik sak, and then pinned the next circle etc. When I had the picture finished, I measured the notebook and sew the blue fabric around and then pieces for ‘sleeves’. I’m happy if you like to try this fun, too! Teje
Thank you, Teje= I thought that might have been the way you did it. You’ve put “interfacing” on the back, or “stabilizer.” Interfacing is a thin but stiff fabric you use inside of coat collars and things. Stabilizer can be sticky, and will keep the things you sew to it in the right shape.
Thank you so much for explaining the process to me. Your work turned out beautifully. It looks as joyful as you are.
What a lovely creation again, Teje! Your sewing always make me smile, they’re full of sunshine and happiness, I like this flower a lot!
Have a happy weekend with lot’s of sunshine!
Greetings from SNOWY (oh yes, again) Finland again!
Yours,
Mia
Scraps and left-over anything is just art waiting to happen … very nicely done.
And your Nelli – smart kitty, she.

Hi Teje, it’s so nice to be back here again. I haven’t been reading many blogs lately, but today I’ve been catching up with what you and Nero have been up to
Your flower is lovely! And thank you for the recipe for cinnamon buns, they look very delicious. Have a great weekend!
What a beautiful flower. Today was sunny here, but cold. Spring can take a long time coming to Michigan.
Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
What a beautiful book cover….thank you for the photos too. I want Spring to be here so much so seeing your photos brightens my day.
Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
What a lovely blog, I love the way you write! I think your note book is so pretty I would love to know how you make it.
HI Teje, your new flower is lovely and very apt as the spring flowers are appearing everywhere here now. The clocks went forwards this morning so we have enjoyed even more daylight! Nero is obviously very excited about the draw! Billy sends a purr to Nero, (and Foxy and Nelli of course!) He has loved being in the garden today.

Hi Teje, I can’t believe how I got here!. I went to The Patchwork and Quilting bloglist and clicked on Patchwork in Paris. From her site I went to Quiltsory Fabric Tuesday and there I recognised your blue flower in one of the links. It really is lovely. I think I have to make some birds tomorrow. I put my blog name. Seem to be a few Vals around
Fun post as usual.
