CROCHET AND STONES

Hello my Dear Friends!!! Fabulous Friday to Everyone!!!

Here in our stone house it’s all about stones! Perhaps you could take a cup of coffee and a comfortable chair … I have many photos again…

The weather is dark, cloudy, cold and wet … but still I had wonderful time on the beach with Hanna. Yesterday afternoon we went to find stones … like we don’t have enough …

We went to see what we can find from this beach near to us…

We were here first time with Hanna and she was worried – as usually – but we had a lovely moment just before it was getting dark. We found lots of stones – some of them good for my new hobby … and some of them just so beautiful!

When we returned home, we washed the stones. They look always so nice when water makes the colours more visible!

I don’t know how to show them to you … all together first … one by one … okey here they are all at once …

I have seen some of these and thought they have to be difficult to do … I’m so happy I finally tried to crochet a stone! It’s not difficult at all and it is so much Fun!

First I made these two white stones with medium thick cotton yarn and simple pattern. I didn’t follow any pattern. I just started with a circle and continued with the ‘net’.

Then I made these two with lime yellow linen yarn. This yarn is quite thin and even I love the colour and the material, I haven’t used it much. For the stones it is the most beautiful choice!

I’ll show you close look for every stone so you can see how I have crochet them. I have started from up – like here you see the circle in the middle.

When you reached the most fat part of the stone, you start to make it slowly smaller. Try during the work that you can still put the stone inside. Then the rest of the crochet I made having the stone in the net. Under the stone it looks like this …

Make just free style crochet to close the net.

I wanted to make one big stone with a lovely blue linen yarn. For this one I made a try with two flowers which I catched together and then continued the net around.

Few days ago I found nice ceramic and now it’s filled with Rosmarin. I love the rough look it has and it makes nice decoration with some stones!

Still there is one stone – I saved my favorite last – you can guess that it’s not going to be the last stone with crochet - I shall make many of them! So here is the sweetie I made yesterday evening …

You see, the Flower found a new place! For this I took photos to show you how I made it …

When you crochet this, it may look a little bit mess, but when it’s tight around the stone, it’s going to be fine.

If you ask from Mr. google ‘crochet stone’ he will show you lots of pages full of beautiful stones with crochet and real pieces of art!

Here are the materials that I used for these stones …

I want to tell you about one unique blog. It has a lovely name ‘Star of the East’! You will be happy to meet Ester and Estella and see their amazing and so beautiful creations! This is the tray you saw with the stones. I have made it few years ago with wood. The handles are for the cupboard doors and the idea for picture came from an old cushion.

Nero is sleeping and sleeping … he had to go to the vet today. His other ear was swelling and he went to the vet last week. It is ‘aural heematoma’. He is having antibiot and the vet emtied the blood that was under the skin. Today he needed to do that again – now there was only air. We hope he doesn’t need to go anymore and it’s going to be well. First I thought not to write about sickness but it’s always good to know. So if you meet something like this, you know what it is. The cause for it is an injure, scraching the ear or shaking the head. It may get well alone but then usually the look of the ear will change.

Nero was sleeping two hours in the car – his favorite place – and now he came next to me to continue sleeping. He’s fine now and sends you vof vof!

I love your “crochet stones”. I’ve seen these before on the blogosphere and think they’re so beautiful. I particulalry like the blues ones you made although they’re all very pretty. The sun is shining here today

Well that’s new to me Teje..crocheted stones! They look very pretty with all their cotton outfits. I am sorry to hear that Nero has been unwell but so glad he is getting better quickly now. Have a sunny weekend; we finally have some lovely sunshine here!

Lovely crochet stones, they are so pretty.
I hope Nero is feeling better quickly. Our youngest dog Sally was at the vet this week to for an operation to remove a lump from her leg. She is going along very well with her bandage and stitches.

The stones are such a beautiful idea. Thank you for sharing it. My very best friend loves all things nature and I always try to give her pretty stones for her birthday each year. Your stones are beautiful! I love them. I have been looking at the PurlBee tutorial lots of times but we don’t seem to have any nice shaped stones near out house…will have to go looking for some special ones, they look so good don’t they!

Hope Nero is feeling better those haematoma of the ear are pretty uncomfortable.
