Hi Teje, I love the shawl, it looks so soft and snuggly.
I also love the little patchwork dog, I can imagine a quilt with lots of little dogs, maybe a few cats. It would be fabulous!
x
Thank you Emma for your sweet words! You are so right – of course it needs some cats around! I think I need an other lesson for them! Thank’s for the idea! xxx Teje
Hi Teje, how about calling your shawl “Cobweb” , to me it is as delicate as a spider’s web. I love that doggie quilt, such fun. I am glad you had a wonderful birthday too and I hope the computer starts to behave…they can be such a pain at times.
Love Jane x
Dear Jane, thank you for thinking the name! I had to check the ‘Cob’ from my wordbook – that sounds lovely pair of words! xxx Teje
I hope you make a whole dog quilt because that block is SO cute!
Your shawl is just beautiful and looks so soft. I’m terrible with coming up with names, so I can’t help you there.
Dear Anne, you found perfect name for your quilt! Sometimes it comes just like that and an other time not…
The shawl is really soft, light and so warm even it’s thin! I have to make ‘Doggie quilt’ – they are so fun! xxx Teje
Your dog block is precious! My dad’s a veterinarian and I’ve been wanting to make something animal related for him. I may have to copy yours
so beautiful! the shawl is lovely and i enjoyed the green too
)
Hello Teje. Beautiful shawl: natural and soft. I also like the stitch pattern that makes me think of a chessboard.
As for a name, not easy but let’s try: Biotiful (mix of Bio – for its natural touch – and beautiful).
Hoping others will have name ideas.
Big evening hugs.
Dear Rachel, thank you for your sweet words! The shawl is soft, light and so warm! I like the natural things, materials and also squares! You found great combination of words ‘Biotiful’! Now I need to find new project because my knitting bowl is empty! xxx Teje
I love the woven shawl – very delicate and soft
Benta
Beautiful shawl! Very well done
The shawl is lovely!
Your woven shawl is beautiful! It looks like lattice work. And your doggy block is great. You are so talented!! I am getting inspired to get back to quilting myself.
Very cute doggie block. I love the hand-stitching on the ears and tail, nice touch!
Thanks for linking up with WIP Wednesday, have a wonderful week!
I love the shawl, the pattern and wool are beautiful, and I like natural colours like that for wool garments. And the doggie quilt block – gorgeous!! Such character in the whole shape! Have a lovely day, Teje. Helen x
Dear Helen, thank you for your sweet words! It’s fun how few tiny patches can make a figure with character!
xxx Teje
Hi Teje,
Thank you so much for your lovely comment on my blog. About the glasses, the frame is from a Dutch designer called ‘Gijs’. I have looked, but I don’t think their frames are available outside of Holland.
I love your shawl, and I totally agree with you: don’t throw away anything. My husband doesn’t like this idea, because our house is full of stashes now, but I’m sure I will use them someday!
The idea of making a quilt looking like the paving stones is intriguing. Have a good day, Dorien
Thank you Dorien for your lovely words! …why They want us to thow our important and much needed materials…okey sometimes there is quite much but as you see we need all of them!
xxx Teje
Hi Teje…I love your new dog block, I think you should call a quilt ‘Nero’ because the dog you have made looks like Nero’s profile.
Your shawlet is a work of art and I think you should call it ‘feather moss’ because the little fringes fly in the breeze like feathers and it is the colour of the moss on my wooden fence.
Someone gave me some big reels of cotton a while ago and I thought I wouldn’t use it all because there is so much. So I put some in a bag for the op shop…a few days went by and I decided to make the cushions for the flood affected people…so I went and got it out again…I’m glad I did!
Have a great day.
Hi Teje, I have nominated you for the Liebster award..check it out on my blog and enjoy. Your blog is delightful always! Love Jane x
PS cobweb is the name we give to a spider’s web!! Jxx
Ooh! How lovely! I would LOVE to see how your machine worked! Do you not have the mcahine now?
Thanks for linking up to Making It With Allie! I can’t wait to see what you have for next week!
AllieMakes.Blogspot.com
Thank you Allie for your sweet words! I don’t have any more machines for knitting. It was nice time but I prefer by hand – like that you can be more creative. The mcahine could use only thin yarn so it was quite restrictive. See you next week! Teje
Hello Teje,
What a lovely shawl you have made, it’s so pretty, and the color somehow reminds me of soft and good morning porridge but I am sure “puuro” is not what you would love to call that beautiful thing
I am also admiring the dog-blog dearly! I cannot do ANY quilting so I am amazed by your talent! The doggie (and as someone already suggested a few cats, too) quilt would be wonderful! I cannot wait to see your progress!
Have a good day and many greetings from snowy Finland again!
Yours,
Mia
Dear Mia, you found it! I was laughing – how I dind’t see that my shawl is exactly like oatmeal porridge! ‘Kaurapuuro’ would be so nice but I don’t know if it’s good in English…what you think about ‘Oat Flakes’…on the other hand I like funny things so it could be ‘Outmeal Porridge’? Thank you so much for sending me Finnish greetings! xxx Teje
That’s a lovely shawl, no suggestions for the name though! What a shame you lost your yarn, at the same time your post reminded me of some tapestry wool I have back in my home country and I must make a note to bring it when we go on holiday.
You know that photo of the stones with the grass also reminded me of a quilt I saw last year in an exhibition, you can see it here if you want, it’s the 7th one from the top:
http://cards-by-paula.blog.co.uk/2010/08/09/quilting-exhibition-at-newark-park-9150927/
Thank you Paula for your lovely words! Thank you also for reminding me about that quilt! I have seen it before in your post but now I had forgot it! It’s really beautiful and a great idea with the climing plant! Teje
Hi again, Teje!
Kaurapuuro might be a bit hard for English-speaking readers of yours
but your Oat Flakes sounds great! The color is just like oat, that’s what I had in mind I think!
Have a greatest weekend and snowy greetings from Finland again!
Yours,
Mia
Your shawl is GORGEOUS! I love how you displayed it for the photos. I don’t have a good name but I do think of castles when I see it.
Thank you for sharing with Fiber Arts Friday!
Hi Teje, the shawl is absolutely beautiful! You could call it ‘Anja’s shawl’…
The dog block is very cute. Have a great weekend!
Your shawl is beautiful, so light and airy. And the little dog block is adorable! I love the red fabric you used. Good luck with a name, I am no help there. Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
Beautiful shawl and your photos are lovely
Awesome shawl and Quilt!
great work.
I wish it was so green here ..we have gotten snow for the last three days..about another foot total.
This shawl is really very lovely. A quality piece of work for certain!
