Hello my Dear Friends!
Lovely Thursday – Sun is shining and it’s wonderful warm outside! Today is a great day – it’s The day for ‘My Creative Space’ and I am waiting you in my sewing room!
Outside of my sewing/ironing room is a small veranda. This time of the year it’s perfect place for a coffee break! Please welcome inside…
From the open door I see olive trees between two houses (and a ball – it’s not possible to take a photo without any of Nero’s balls).
This I can see from the window (I didn’t collect the wet cloths because they are also my everyday sight).
I have just reorganised my room after having it ‘empty’ for our many friends in October. Now I feel it works well. On the left side I have the ‘ironing’, a sideboard with tv and one guest-bed, where Hanna usually keeps me company.
I have told to you that few days ago I started a new patchwork, blocks for a blanket…I have few of them ready…
I had these fabrics in my mind for a while…I like them. I named this project ‘Just Go’ and it means that I try not to plan too much. I just look a little bit the darkness and lightness and don’t put the same fabric next to the same. Also I use any suitable patches I find front of me not caring so much the size. Only if I cut bigger piece of fabric, I cut it 5 cm strip. Usually my plan is ‘moving on’ during my work. So it’s quite possible that I still add some other fabrics or other kind of blocks.
This is a small table mat for your teacup, candle etc. One day I just didn’t know what to start and I took all small scraps and with the heart (cutten last Christmas) it became this. I have a thin fabric base and over that I start to sew with ‘sik sak’ small patches. Then I make some stitches for details and at the end ‘normal thick’ fabric for the back and the binding. With the same way I have made the covers for my notebooks.
I know that many of you have this time cold, dark and rainy weather and you wish I could send you some SUN! If you miss sun and sand…would you like to go for a trip? Suprise – suprise – Foxy is going to take you for a walk to the BEACH!!!
Foxy loves car-drives and beach! When she came to us, our restaurant was on the best sandy beach of Chania! Foxy was at work with us every day and enjoyed her beach-walks. In the winter time when the restaurant was closed, we still went to the beach every day.
This is our ‘short cut’ road and in 5 minutes we are on the beach.
Here we have our first stop…this is a small beach called ‘Tersanas’ where on the right side is also some small fishing boats. Nero is from the village of Tersanas!
This ‘sweetie’ came to say Hello!

Now we continue to the ‘Stavros’ village and beach…

As you can see turists have flyed home and the beaches are empty. No sunbeds or umbrellas anymore, kiosks and tavernas have closed…
LOOK UP! You see the small cave up, a little bit right from the centre! ‘Zorbas’ was living here. ..you know the movie ‘Zorba the Greek’ with Anthony Queen? The movie was also filmed here and in one taverna here next to the beach is an ‘Golden Oscar Statue’! An English man got the Oscar for the best photografing for this movie. He has been living in this village and left the Oscar in the taverna so that every one can enjoy it!
Lets get some sand to our toes….
On this part of the beach the ground is quite strange…you can almost imagine that you are on the moon!

The next photo shows better how the open sea is on the left (if you continue straight you come to Athens) and on the right is the small sandy beach with the kiosk.
So this is ‘Stavros’. When returning home we passed still two other beaches. It would be too much for one post … so an other time I take you there! And believe me there is still many many beaches where we can go…
I hope you enjoyd your trip to the beach! Foxy was so happy for this drive and walk and even she looked first a little bit tired when we came home, she was all the evening very happy! You remember that she is 14 years!
Today I have evening coffee with my Finnish friends and when I come back I hope to meet you!

Thank you for the lovely guided tour around your work space and the beach. It looks so lovely and so bright! I think the patchwork quilt is going to be fabulous. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished result. Foxy is very cute!

Thank you Penny! Kisses for Higgins! Love Teje and Nero
Oh how I wish that my studio looked as warm, comfy and organised as yours does.
Your neck of woods is sooooooooo beautiful. I would love to be near to the sea.

Thank you! I’m happy to have a big room for my works. Often I’m organizing too much and don’t get any work done! Xxx Teje
Hei taas. Lämpötila on +1 astetta. Teetkö käsitöitä työksesi, onko sinulla joku pieni myymälä jossa niitä myyt? Olet varmaan huomannut, että meillä on Ronjan kanssa pieni lemmikkitarvikekauppa. Pääset kurkistamaan sinne Ronjan blogista klikkaamalla tassun kuvaa.
Lämmintä loppuviikkoa teille täältä Suomesta!
Ihana muuten tuo Foxyn viimeinen kuva. Rapsutukset kaikille koirille

Do you have to keep gloating about the weather? <> today it rained so hard I couldn’t see my car from my friend’s front door, so we had to talk a bit more before I came home to tidy the house!!

What a beautiful work space and your location looks amazing. I’m currently dreaming about living where you do, just me, my family, my sewing, and the beautiful landscapes. It’s just dreamy!
What a lovely area to live and your work station is great. The blocks are beautiful.
I live your dogs and your beautiful photos of where you live. And you do patchwork which is wonderful! I am just getting started on figuring out this blogging business. I will watch yours.
It is good to be back from holiday and in the swing again ….. there are so many of your lovely postings to read and catch up on. I wonder if you will let us into the secret of how to make your gorgeous Finnish Cinnamon buns? ….. Please!
Have a lovely warm day …. we have just had our first snow, quite early for our part of England.
